Web Design Green Bay

Welcome to Web design Green Bay!  At Local Ads Agency, we are committed to creating websites that are designed to be attractive, functional, and mobile-friendly.  Creating functional website designs and navigation that are user-friendly to visitors.

Do you need a web design for your local service-based business in Green Bay?

The short and long answer is Yes! If you are marketing or planning to market your service-based business locally online then you will need a website with a great design.

Development from web designers can be an important part of your success in local Search Engine Optimization strategy. Local responsive web design is just as important as local Search Engine Optimization, they work together and go hand in hand.

It’s very important to have a website for your business on the world wide web, and not just any site either, but one that will be easy for customers to find on the internet and it needs words that speak directly to your visitors in order to be successful! Our website designers will create an attractive and functional site for your local business.

A good designer can create a site that helps potential clients recognize what makes YOUR service better than their competitors so they’re more likely to choose YOU. A poorly designed website may lead them right back out of your site without providing enough information about why they should do business with you instead of someone else.

Does my Green Bay Wisconsin business need a new website design?

Existing Businesses:

It depends on if your site is old and not very attractive or is not functioning properly, then yes you should get a new design. Or, if you are looking to upgrade your site to something that is more functional, user-friendly, and up to date. You could be losing clients to your competitors because of a poorly designed site.

New Businesses:

Yes, if you don’t have one yet. Most businesses are online these days and a web design is your key to being found online to sell your services.

Where do I find a great design for my Green Bay business?

When searching for “web design + your city”, or web design green bay, you will find a lot of them. How do you know which one is best for you?

The first thing to do is to look at their web page. Is it easy on the eyes? Is the information you are looking for easily found? Do they sell sites with search engine optimization? Or are they selling you an automobile with no engine? That’s what buying a website is like if it is not properly optimized.

Also, one of the things that distinguish a good web designer from an average one is their understanding and knowledge about content. Quality words are what will drive the traffic to your site, so it’s important to make sure you have enough on yours!

When web developers create your site, they most likely are just creating the outline or structure of the website. No content unless you provide it for them. At Local Ads Agency, we provide 10-20 pages with up to 10,000 words.

What do I need to give a web designer?

• Images
• Name of Services
• Name of Business
• Address
• Phone Number
• What keywords do you want your site to rank for if known
• WordPress Theme
• Hosting Login
• Social Media URLs
• Access to Google Account (for hooking up Analytics and Google Console)

Where should I get a domain name?

There are quite a few places where you can buy a domain name for your business. A couple of the reputable ones are GoDaddy and NameCheap. Most domain registrars have an annual fee.

Where should I get hosting?

There are quite a few places where you can buy hosting for your website. We recommend HawkHost for hosting your website’s platform, as it has a great backup system and is very dependable. Most digital hosting companies have an annual fee, but some do offer monthly plans as well. Also, look for ones that have a backup and whose PHP is up to date. Most hosting companies these days have a backup for your website if something goes wrong, where you can just reinstall the backup and be up and running again.

Most hosting companies these days come with an SSL Certificate which makes your site secure. So instead of a website URL coming up as http:// it will show https:// and this is a factor that needs to be in play for the development of your site to keep it secure for visitors.

What do websites cost?

Depending on where you get your website design from, it can cost anywhere from $10,000+ to $1,000, but remember, you get what you pay for.

For an SMB, the average cost is between $1,000 – $10,000. Once you have the perfect website, then what? You will need to pay someone to optimize it for the search engines and that can be 2x or 3x the cost of a website design. Otherwise, you will have a website that collects virtual dust and won’t do anything for you.

Why? Because you will need someone who knows how to create the best website that is search engine optimized so it can rank highly in Google. That is why we combine them together to create websites that are optimized and you get the best of both worlds when it comes to development and marketing your business online.

Who should I hire for the development of my site?

Keep this in mind when hiring anyone to work on your website: You typically get what you pay for with web design. A site that is not optimized for search engines is a virtual paperweight. Find someone that knows how to optimize your site not just for the search engines, but also for the visitors too.

At the end of the day, it is your business and money spent, so do not take a risk with a cheap website designer as they may put your site at risk or they may give you something that won’t impress visitors, or worse won’t rank.

Do I need backlinks for search engine optimization?

With local businesses, it doesn’t really need tons of backlinks. If you have citations, your citations and on-page Search Engine Optimization should be enough to get you a ranking on Google. But we do utilize other backlink services that are not spammy links like others use.

Note: If you are in tough competition, more backlinks can help.

Some agencies charge for monthly backlink packages. Don’t fall for that. If you live in a small to medium-sized city, you won’t need this. Local links are best plus PR or Press Releases are great too.

How long does it take for web designers to finish a website?

As long as we have all the information and logins, development can take anywhere from a couple of days to about a week.

What is CMS and what do you use it for and why?

CMS stands for Content Management System this is software that is used to build websites by developers.

We strictly use WordPress

Why? Because it is a platform used by over 41% of webmasters and is the most commonly used from small businesses to larger ones like news sites.

Your new site should be easy to use, mobile responsive, loads fast, and look great on any device. It should also have an intuitive navigation system so customers can find what they want quickly and easily. With our expertise in website design, we’ll make sure your site is up-to-date with the latest technology so it’s working at its best!

Do I need to update my WordPress website?

Yes. You should update any plugins, theme, or WordPress itself when prompted in your back-end when you login into your website.

This should be done at least monthly, more often is better if needed.

Also, adding relevant Blog Posts to your site will keep it fresh and updated with your services and visitors. If you want to rank for other keywords or long-tail keywords, it is always best to have a blog with posts that can help you rank for these keywords. Most businesses have hundreds if not thousands of keywords that they can use and get ranking for.

About the City of Green Bay Wisconsin:

Green Bay is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The county seat of Brown County is at the head of Green Bay (known locally as “the bay of Green Bay”), a sub-basin of Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the Fox River. It is 581 feet (177 m) above sea level and 112 miles (180 km) north of Milwaukee. As of the 2020 Census, Green Bay had a population of 107,395, making it the third-largest in the state of Wisconsin, after Milwaukee and Madison, and the third-largest city on Lake Michigan, after Chicago and Milwaukee.

Green Bay is the principal city of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area, which covers Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties.  Green Bay is well known for being home to the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League.

Wisconsin’s first newspaper, The Green Bay Intelligencer, was started in 1833.  The borough of Green Bay, created in 1838, is the center of the present-day city. The borough combined the town of Astoria (a company town of the American Fur Company), with Navarino, platted by Daniel Whitney. Before Wisconsin became a state in 1848, its commerce was based on the fur trade, which became dominated by John Jacob Astor’s American Fur Company. After statehood, there was a shift away from fur trading toward lumbering. “For a short time in the 1860s and 1870s, iron smelting in charcoal kilns rivaled the timber industry while the port handled increasing amounts of fuel, feed, and lumber. Today’s major local industry had its start in 1865 when the first paper mill was built.”

By 1850 the town had a population of 1,923. The town was incorporated as the city of Green Bay in 1854. The Green Bay Area Public School District was founded in 1856.  Throughout the 1850s, word spread of America’s cheap land and good soil, bringing in an influx of Belgian people, German, Scandinavian, Irish and Dutch immigrants, each adding to the culture. The greatest concentration of newcomers came from Belgium. They cleared the land to farm and build their homes.

The railroad arrived in the 1860s. The three railroads that would reach Green Bay were the Chicago & North Western (C&NW), SOO Line, (SOO), and the Milwaukee Road (MILW). These railroads were highways that allowed people and products to travel all over the state, increasing business and trade opportunities. The area was able to grow and enrich itself with the use of the river and the plentiful timber resources. This led to the paper industry becoming the major employer in Green Bay, and opened up the port for international trade.
